Legislative action is what started ABATE years ago.
" LET THOSE WHO RIDE DECIDE"
"LOOK TWICE AND SAVE A LIFE"
"SHARE THE ROAD"
"LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES"
These are all familiar saying to any one who rides, but unfortunately they are not that familiar to everyone who writes the laws we have to live and die with! One of the purposes of ABATE is to educate others so that we may ride safer, and in so eliminate discriminatory laws.
There is a lot of talk currently on loud pipes and noise pollution. do motorcycles make noise? is it too much? should something be done about it?
Another hot topic is Motorcycle only Road blocks. These are police run "safety checks" that only pull in motorcycles. They do not check the cars or trucks on the road. They check the motorcycles and rider for any violations of DOT law and also outstanding warrants. Our stance is that this is something other than a safety check and is unconstitutional and a waste of our tax dollars .
Is there more? Do you know of issue that effect bikers? Would you like to get more involved?

Notice the banner in the background? What makes you safer on the road, State Troopers getting into your back pocket or a little advertisement for "Watch for Motorcycles" ? You tell me who serves you better? Did you know that Mass. just outlawed stops like the one shown here? Thank to the MMA and Paul Cote.

Did you know that Motorcycle registration in the New York Area, NYC and the surrounding counties Has gone up over 400%. to pay for the MTA? I did not know that motorcycles were allowed on the Metro. Why would I want to ride a train if I could be on my bike?
